Rebecca Chowdhury is a freelance journalist and language justice worker. As a journalist, she covers underreported issues facing working-class and poor BIPOC communities of color. As a language justice worker, she provides Bangla interpretation in social justice spaces in New York City ensuring that working-class Bengali immigrants can fully participate in community organizing. She leads trainings on how to create multilingual spaces and supports the Bengali diaspora in reconnecting with their mother tongue teaching Bangla classes. She is proud to have grown up working-class in an immigrant Bangladeshi family in Jackson Heights, Queens.
